Technology is constantly changing our world – often improving the lifestyle of our society. Consequently, the Niskayuna technology department’s faculty is committed to changes that will help our students keep pace with the technological innovations of today and prepare them for the careers of tomorrow.
Technology education offers a variety of experiences including engineering, design, manufacturing and production. Through project based learning, students will master skills using a creative, hands-on approach and recognize the import relationship to traditional academics such as math and science.
Students are encouraged to explore course from either the Applied Systems or Pre-engineering sequence. Both areas complement each other and will help students develop skills in areas such as critical thinking, teamwork, communication and problem-solving in addition to providing a solid foundation for those students who plan to pursue a technical field or study engineering in college.
