Instruction in social studies at the high school seeks to make students more aware of how the social science disciplines, particularly history, geography, and economics, can inform our understanding about past and present day culture.  We strive to interest students and provide multiple perspectives using a rich variety of text, visual and oral resources.   Such strategies speak to the fundamental goal of making certain students understand essential content while also developing critical thinking and communication skills that promote engagement within local, national and global communities.
