The Niskayuna Forensics Website gathers only minimal information regarding your use of site. There are only two features on the site which track your actions.

The first is the search engine. It automatically gathers reports of searches, that is, compilations of search words that have been used, and spits them out every two weeks. However, no information regarding your individual searches is reported.

The second feature is the message board. The message board software that is installed on the site automatically puts "cookies" on your hard drive which provide information about your computer that the software then uses each time you visit the boards. For example, one of these uses is the "New Posts" function. The software uses your cookies to determine whether there are new posts in a certain forum or not. Of course, that is relative to whether or not your computer has viewed the posts or not, so these cookies are necessary to provide that information.

In addition, when you register for the message board, some personal information is asked. None of this information is used for anything other than updating your personal account. This information is not given or sold to anyone. Registration is also only necessary if you wish to post on the boards, and if you only want to view posts, feel free. If you do register on it, that information will NOT be given away.
