This past Friday, June 11, Ally Mayo was found sitting in Principal John Rickert's office, an unfamiliar place for Ally at Niskayuna High School. The reason for this visit was to recognize Ally as she signed a National Letter of Intent (LOI) to row for the University at Buffalo. These letters are signed in the spring by athletes all over the country as they commit to their respective institutions. This is a significant event in a young athlete's life, and to show this importance, Principal Rickert had Ally "Officially" sign the LOI document in his office. During the signing photos were taken with other LOI signers, their parents and coaches.
Congratulations Ally! A link to the University of Buffalo's mentioning Ally as one of 7 rowers signing Letters of Intent for the upcoming 2013-2014 season can be found here.
