One of the greatest books I have ever read is Mossflower . It is the first book in the exciting Redwall series by Brian Jacques. Brian Jacques has really done some amazing work!
Mossflower is a huge forest in a world where only animals live. I really can't tell when the time period is since there are no human characters and it is a fantasy story. In the book, Mossflower is controlled by the evil Tsarmina. She rules Mossflower by the strength of her army. She takes so much food from the peaceful woodlanders for her army, that most of the woodlanders have hidden deep in the forest and formed a rebel group. There seems to be no hope of the rebels even winning one battle until a lone warrior traveling from the north is captured by Tsarmina. Finally with the help of a thief named Gnoff, who in the middle of raiding Kotier's (Tsarmina's castle) kitchen, was captured and thrown into the same cell as the warrior named Martin. Together they break out of Kotier and flee into to the rebel hideout called Brockhall. Martin then meets the rebel leader named Bella. Bella knows that with the help of this warrior the rebels might have a chance against Kotier and that's where the adventures begins.
Mossflower is one of the only books I know that will always keep me on the edge of my seat with intense action, suspense, and just down right fun! One of those parts that had all that and more started off when Martin, Gnoff, and a volunteer from the rebels named Dinny, were on a quest to find Bella's father. When they were walking along the ocean, a crab appeared out of the water and all three drew their weapons and engaged in battle! But the hard shell of the crab protected it. Then the crab stopped and started jumping up and down. Gnoff threw down his javelin and started dancing with the crab! If that doesn't crack you up I don't know what will. I mean can you picture a crab dancing with a mouse?
I would strongly recommend this book to any one who can read well. This book, I would say, is on a high school reading level. So if you love to read, this book is a must. You can also read other great books in the Redwall series but I suggest you start with Mossflower since it's the first book in Brian Jacque's thrilling series! I enjoyed it and you should too!

Mossflower is a great book to read. It is adventurous and exciting. This book kept me reading for hours and couldn't stop. I am sure you will enjoy this book too.
Mossflower is about a mouse named Martin. He is a warrior and ventured from the north and down to the south. But he is encountered by 12 Kotir soldiers and he fought back with all his might. But, in the end, he is captured and is brought to Kotir and put in front of Verdauga the ruler of Kotir. Verdauga was interested at this warrior. After much argument from Tsarmina and her brother Gingevere, their father chose to put Martin into the cells and be let free in half a year. But Verdauga is killed by Tsarmina. The death of Verdauga was accused by Gingevere and oncehe was in the cells, Tsarmina became queen.
After a while Martin met a friend. His name was Gonff. Together they thought of a plan to escape. It was risky but they had to take it. They escaped and made their way with Gonffs' friends who were called the Corim (Creatures of resistance in Mossflower), helped them escape. Once Martin made it home, he met many people and made new friends, as well as meeting other warriors. After Bella told Martin about Salamandastron, he decided to go in look to find Boar the fighter. He followed the clues to find the map to Salamandastron, he ventured to the west with Gonff and Dinny a mole. After a long, tiring, hot journey, they found Salamandastron. But, once they got there, they found a haunting secret that frightens Boar.
At Mossflower the Corim (Creatures of resistance in Mossflower) had secretly made a plan to get rid of Kotir. Bella waited impaitantly for Martin to return with Boar. The Corim was getting weaker because every day the Kotir soldiers were attacking the woodlands and killing many woodlanders. The woodlanders would attack the Kotir soldiers and the Kotir soldiers would attack the woodlands. Once the woodlanders tried to use their plan to destroy Kotir, it didn't work.
Meanwhile, Martin was making his way home with a sad look on his face. At Mossflower, the woodlanders lost their last battle and nothing could save them. This book will excite you and you will enjoy it. You can find this book in many different places. You can find this book at Van Antwerp Middle School and Craig library. This book can be purchased at any book selling store. This book excited me and kept me on the end of my seat and I hope it will do the same to you too.
