One of the most terrific novels I have read this year is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. This book is an exiting book, and even better, it takes place in the years of the knights. A story of magical places, many adventures, and the struggle to survive.
The whole story begins with the accidental discovery of a strange new world. Peter, Edmund, Susan, and Lucy all set off to explore their new house. Once they find the guest room, everything starts. Lucy resolves to look in the wardrobe. But, it is not big fur coats she finds in the wardrobe, but a whole new world of talking animals and fairy tail characters.
The other three soon find out, with their own eyes, that this new country was not just a figment of Lucy's outrageous imagination. But there is a problem, they cannot get to the world of Narnia themselves, they must enter only by a mistake. And they do, when they are hiding from the maid of the house.
When finally in Narnia they hear, from the animals, that they are part of the legend and their purpose in the legend is to find king Aslan, a lion of power and wisdom. When they find him they must conquer the evil White Witch of Narnia.
Each of the children recieve gifts as a weapon for defeating, the horrible witch. Lucy gets a magic horn, witch summons the most helpful animals in Narnia.
Susan gets a bow and arrows, and the only magical thing about that is that she never misses. Both Peter and Edmund get swords and shields, and they both have incredible ability. Will the battle end at a long waited for victory?
