One of my favorite books I have read this year was The Diary of Anne Frank
. This book takes place during World War II. Anne Frank is about 14 years old and
she and her family were hiding from the Nazis. The Nazis were German soldiers who
were going to take the family to a concentration camp if they found them. They were
hiding in a warehouse . The warehouse had a secret passageway called an annex. The annex
is hidden by a bookshelf on the second floor of the warehouse. The family had to
be very quiet during the day so nobody working in the warehouse could hear them.At
night they didn't have to be as quiet.
I liked this book a lot because it was in the form of a diary, Anne's diary. Anne
gave her opinion of everything and what she thought everyone else was thinking.
This was Anne Frank's real diary from about 1941-1945 Mr. Frank, Anne's father,
found her diary and published it. Every second of every minute of every day Anne was afraid
that Nazis were going to find her and her family, and that they were going to die
in the concentration camp.
This book kept my attention because I wanted to find out what really happened about
53 years ago, and how people dealt with it. In the book the Nazis searched the warehouse
and slept there. The Frank family had to be extra quiet so the Nazis wouldn't suspect that any people were hiding there. At this part of the book I felt scared for
them, my heart was beating fast. I don't like learning about history but this book
really opened up my eyes to it. This book is at about a seventh grade book and I
would recommend this book to everyone!!
