I read a book this year called,Congo . This book is about a team of researchers from the company "Travel Com" that go out in the Congo formerly known as Zaire. They were sent out there to look for diamonds to power their new advanced satellite.
Then while the first team was out in the Congo they were brutally killed by something. The team out in the Congo had brought a computer that could talk to the headquarter's back in Houston, Texas. When they were talking back to each other by satellite transmission the team in the Congo , were attacked by something. Back in Houston Karen Ross and some other workers watched the gruesome transmission in horror. All they saw were the team being attacked by a bunch of blurry objects. Then in a few seconds all they saw was the whole team lying on the ground all dead with their skulls crushed inn. This story took place in 1972. After the team had seen the transmission they went over it again and again. They had the blurry objects clarified.
They found out that the objects were a knew species of gorilla's from ancient times. They were trained and bread to kill anyone that entered the palace without permission. Then after a while the gorilla's went and killed all of their masters. They decided to live in the palace known as the "City of Zinji". This was located in the Congo . Then the next team went out. This time Dr.Karen Ross went out on this voyage.
When a professor named Peter Elliot heard about this he was very interested. He went and volunteered because he had a gorilla named Amy. Amy was no ordinary gorilla though. Peter and his assistant had very high tech equipment, the equipment allowed Amy to talk. What the equipment did was when ever Amy would talk in her language it would translate out the words in human form. He took Amy out to the Congo with Karen Ross and some others from her company. They with to the airport in Zaire where they met Monroe and others. They were coming along to make sure that were prepared. When they got to their point they had to parachute out off the plane.
Then they started having unpleasant experiences with nature. When the team was in the Congo they discovered a group of people known as the . Amy seemed a bit frightened of something in the jungle. When she was home in her trailor where she lived she would have nightmare's of the jungle where she used to live. Peter Elliot and his assistant were never able to find out was scaring her. She loved to paint, and she would always paint this symbol of an eye. If you would like to know more about this absoulutey exciting thrilling novel go to a library and pick up a copy of CONGO .
