A great novel that I read this year is Cat on the Edge
. Cat on the Edge
by Shirley Rousseau Murphy is 274 pages long.
Cat on the Edge
is about a gray cat named Joe Gray. Joe Gray is at Jolly's Bakery at about 11:00
pm. Joe is lying around the counter top when he hears a strange noise. Then he
goes to the window. He sees three shadows in the brick alley next to the bakery.
Joe jumps out of the window and sees that two men are shooting an old man. He then sees that
it is a good friend and boss of his owner, Samuel Beckwhite. The two killers are
in the shadows at first then come out into the light where Joe could see them. These
two killers are so called friends of his owner Clyde Bamen. Ever since that night in
the alleyway the killers and the murder keep coming back to him. He can't get any
sleep and is getting very tired of this. After the flashbacks Joe goes out in search
of the two killers. Joe's friend from down the street, Dulice, comes to help him after
he has told her what has happened in the alley that night.
Joe and Dulice go out of town for about five days. While Dulice and Joe are out searching,
the people in the town hear about the murder of Samuel Beckwhite. Shirley Beckwhite
hires Detective Max Harper to trace down the murderer or murderers. After days of searching, Max Harper still hasn't found anything. Joe And Dulice come back
later that day and find out that Shirley Beckwhite had hired a Detective Max Harper.
Joe and Dulice go out in search of him so maybe they can help him find some evidence
in the Alley.
This book is for average readers who like murder mysteries and like to read, of course.
In my opinion, this is a very good book to read and I could read it over and over
again. I hope that you like it too!
