A phenomenal book I read this year was Under the Blood-Red Sun. The author of this book is Graham Sailsbury.
This historical fiction book is about a young boy named Tomi. Tomi lives with his mother, father, and grandfather in a small home on the Wilsonís property. Tomi has a Japanese background, since all of his family is from Japan, except for him. Tomi lived on the Hawaiian Islands in the time of World War II.
Tomi and his friend Billy (a tall blond American boy) frequently lecture to each other about the issues of the war and ask each other questions about it like why it instituted, or when will it will be concluded They even sometimes wonder if they will be forced to join the army and go to war.
Then, one day, when Tomi and Billy were playing baseball in diamond grass field, Japanese fighter planes flew over to the Islands and dropped bombs everywhere. Innocent individuals were annihilated. Residences were obliterated, and devastation was everywhere.
All while this terrible thing is happening, Tomiís father is out at sea fishing. That was what he did for a living. Tomiís father never reappeared at home. Now it was up to Tomi to uncover his fatherís story.. That is the major most part of the story.
If you savor an enjoyable phenomenal book, with a lot of stimulation in it, this is certainly the book for you.
