One of my favorite books that I read this year is Mattimeo, a book from the Redwall series, written by Brian Jacque.

Mattimeo about the reckless son of the Redwall hero Matthias, named Mattimeo. Redwall is a Abbey where all creatures can come. It is also about a fox insane with revenge at the dwellers of Redwall Abbey. The fox is known as Slagar the Cruel a evil creature who runs a slavers band. He plans to take revenge on the Abbey by instead of killing his nemesis Matthias, capturing Matthias son Mattimeo.

Slagar tricks the Abbey into letting his band into their Abbey and captures Mattimeo and some other young ones. Slagar leads the group of slavers and slaves southward toward the dreaded land of Malkiriss.

While Slagar is journeying south, Matthias and a group of searchers set out to find their missing children. Somewhere along the trail Matthias, Basil Stag Hare, and Jess Squirrel get separated from the main group and set off on their own in search of the children.

During the book these three join forces with others to rescue the young woodland creatures. Some of these are Orlando the Axe, a huge badger whoís daughter was taken by Slagar. Another is Jabez, a warrior hedge hog, whoís only son was taken by Slagar. Plus a young otter named Cheek, whoís looking for adventure. And a large tribe of river shrews.

This is a exciting book with adventure and humor. If you want a interesting book, this is the book for you!
