One of the favorite books I read this year is Number the Stars. it was written by Lois Lowry.

Number the Stars is an excellent book. It takes place in a town in Germany, which is called Copeck when World War Two was beginning. Germans were gathering names of Jews in the town, and taking them to Concentration Camps where they were to stay until the war was over. Jewish families were trying to escape from the Germans, but only a few were lucky enough to escape.

When a Jewish family finds out about this they try to escape. A way they do this is split the family up. By this I mean that the mother and father went out of Copeck with other Jewish families that were trying to escape, While there 12 year old daughter stayed with a family that was an known very well by them. The steps that the family had to take to get reunited is the main conflict in this story.

If you want to read an interesting book about the struggle of a Jewish family during World War Two,Number the Stars is the book to read. I highly recommend it.
