A wonderful book! Nothing But The Truth is one of the best AVI books! It is so good it should be a classic.

I read a book called Nothing But The Truth by AVI. This is a very good book, with a lot of characters. For example, here are some of the names of characters: Philip Malloy, Miss Narwin, Mr. Malloy, and many others. It was not only fun to read but an enjoyable novel. It is a documentary novel with phone conversations, letters, and personal thoughts about others.

The book is about a boy named Philip Malloy who is so eager to be on the Harrison High school track team. There is only one problem, Miss Narwin. Not only is she Philipís biggest problem, but his homeroom and English teacher. The reason Miss Narwin is Philipís biggest problem is because he thinks that Miss Narwin acts only in a disrespectful manner to him. That's why he thinks he has such bad grades. With the bad grades which he is only giving himself on a keeps himself off the track team.

The plot of the story is that one day when the National Anthem was playing over the load speaker Philip was humming it and the rules say that you have to be quite. Miss Narwin heard him humming and yelled at him in front of the whole class. He denied that he was humming, and after a lecture from Miss Narwin, he was sent to the principal. When he got home he told his parents and the story spread all over the nation. The ending was very interesting.

This book is good for someone who doesn't like to read and also for the people who like to read.

My favorite book I read this year is Nothing But the Truth by Avi. Nothing But the Truth is a really good book and is fun and enjoyable.

The book is about a boy, Philip who has a habit of humming the National Anthem. Every morning in his school the assistant principal plays a tape of the National Anthem, and when you hear it,youíre supposed to be quiet, but not Philip. He hums it. But, Philip has no time for anything like that because he is training for the track team. His grades are not so good either. The track wants to kick him off the team but he doesnít The assistant principal gives him detention, or he gets expelled for humming the National Anthem. All of the news crews come to his house and interview him about his "problem" so they say.

Nothing But the Truth is mostly an easy book to read. Maybe a little too easy for 7th graders. I hope you like it.
