A great book that I read this year in English was An Enemy Among Them. The book took place during the Revolutionary War. Some of the characters in the book were Margaret Volpert, Lottie Volpert, John Volpert, Jacob Volpert, Chirstain, and lastly, George Schaefer.
The book was about a family "The Volperts," who let a man by the name Chirstain who was on the other side of the war while the Volpertís son, John, was on the other. They met Chirstain in a Army Hospital were John was staying. After a long time Chirstain comes home with the Volperts and lives with them. Chirstainís job at the house is to make shoes. Mrs. Volpert doesnít agree with Chirstain staying with them because, Chirstain hurt John by accident and didnít really mean to. While Chirstain is living with the Volperts, the adventures begin.
The reason why I picked this book to read was because, I thought it was very interesting and neat to learn about the American Revolution. I would recommend this book to another student if they like reading about the Revolution and if they like to hear stories that are sad.
