I think that of all the books that I read this year, The Sword of Shannara, by Terry Brooks, is my favorite. This book is full of fantasy, adventure, battles, and magical things. That's the kind of book that I like. Originally, I just chose to read this book because I'd heard that Terry Brooks was a good author. As soon as I got into it, I realized this was true. He writes so that things seem very real. The book is about two brothers, and their journey across a magical land. Their goal is to recover the long lost magical sword of Shannara, and use it to destroy the evil lord who rules the land. On their way they encounter gnomes, trolls, spirits, and a number of other things that would stand in their way. Their adventures are very gripping, and I was interested the whole way through. I would recommend this book very highly.
