A book that I enjoyed was Scorpions by Walter Dean Myers. It's about a boy and his friend , the main character Jamal's has a brother that was in jail because he killed someone but he only did for his own pertection . After his brother was in jail his gang called the Scorpions needed a new leader so the gang choose Jamal to be the new leader because they thought that his brother had already taught him about how the gang worked. So they pick him to become the new team leader and they give him the gun that his brother used to kill the person with . His best friend Tito Knew that the gun was no good be Jamal didn't listen. I'd recommend this book because it had a lot of good parts and it is full of action.

I think Scorpions is a very good book to read. It is about a boy named Jamal who was about 13 and was man of the house, because his father never wanted to see them again, and his older brother Randy was in jail for shooting someone. And now his brother wants him to be the leader of his gang called the Scorpions. Then Randy told one of his friends to give Jamal a gun, and Jamal decides to keep the gun. In the middle of school he theatens the school bully with the gun and he gets in a whole mess of trouble with the other kids parents. Then two of the gang members start to threaten him and he is really scared.
