One of the best books that I have read this year was The Pearl by John Steinbeck. This book is about a poor family that finds this huge, beautiful pearl. The family thinks they are going to make a lot of money off the pearl, but when they bring it to the dealers they get a surprise. All this time someone is trying to steel the pearl! The pearl also brought bad to the family. Little did they know the pearl made whoever owned it very greedy. That gives this book a twist to it. I would definitely recommend that you read this book!
