My favorite book is Mattimeo, which is by Brian Jacques. This book is a
fantasy in the Redwall series. It all begins when an evil group of rats
and other animals in a group that hates Redwall creatures and support themselves
by selling slaves. They want to capture the Redwall Abbey's children and
sell them to a far distant customer. But, they have underestimated the
determination of the Redwall creatures to get their children back, especially
that of Matthias, guardian of the Redwall Abbey.
I like this book because the plot is fascinating and the characters are
very interesting. The book is suspenseful and has a sense of good vs. evil.
It is fun to read but also contains a lot of action. The author's style
is easy to read and he describes a good deal of scenes by having characters
interact with them more often than him just telling you what it all looks
like. I feel that this is a good book to read and I hope that you agree
with me.

Mattimeo was my favorite book this year because it was so descriptive. What
I mean by that statement is that when the author descrbes the feasts at
Redwall in this book, it makes my mouth water. Also during the battles between
Redwall and Malkariss I could tell in what position every creature was in
during battle. I could also picture what was happening between animals because
of how much description there was.
Another reason why I liked this book was because it was action packed. The
mouse warrior, Matthias, was always chasing Slagar the Fox and getting trapped
because of the tricky fox's themes. I also liked this characteristic because
the armies were always on the other one's trail.
This book was outstanding. I couldn't put it down. Mattimeo is in the Redwall
series by Brian Jacques. This book is a definate read.
