The absolute best book I've ever read was Gone With The Wind. This book was so fun to read. There was adventure, tragedy, history, and romance! It is a very famous book and desrves all the recognition it has had. All the characters are memorable, and lovable. Although the book contains 1,000 pages, it barely seemed like 20. The plot covers a lot of subjects such as; the Civil War, racist issues, povery, romance, and growing up in Georgia.
Scarlett O'Hara was the Southern belle of Clayton County, the daughter of a profitable plantation owner. Not only did she have the thinnest waist, the creamiest skin, and the prettiest hair, she was also the biggest flirt and could have any man she wanted. She was having the time of her life and was in love with Ashley Wilkes. Until, she learned that Ashley was marrying his cousin, Melanie and a war was starting against the North. Quickly, she married, and when her husband, Charlie Hamilton died in the war, she brought herself, and her son,Wade Hamilton to Atlanta. There, she was torn and desperate for money. She married a man named Frank Kennedy just for money ! When he died, Rhett Butler, the scoundrel who was an unbelievably handsome Charlestonian, married Scarlett, although she was still in love with Ashley ! The plot to this book has many twists, and turns, and it was just so fun to read! The ending was both suprising, and very sad. I loved this book, and so will you!

Gone With The Wind is my all time favorite book. Millions of people everywhere have read and enjoyed it. From the minute the front cover is opened, readers are spun into a tale of romance, loyalty, patriotism and American history. This is all part of the famous story of Scarlett O'Hara, Rhett Butler, the plantation Tara, and Georgia during the Civil war.
Scarlett O'Hara is the classic spoiled brat, getting everything she wants, when she wants it. She is the belle of Clayton County, what with her 17 inch waist and flirty charm. Up until the start if the Civil war, Scarlett's life is perfect. When the war starts, Georgia is a patriotic place, and when Scarlett moves to Atlanta everyone is working towards the "Cause". But soon people start dying, food stops growing and the Yankee's begin to win the war. Scarlett finally knows what it's like to be hungry.
However, in the second part of the book she changes and once again becomes rich and spoiled.
Scarlett has many romances through-out the book, but her most memorable one is Rhett Butler. Dashing, daring, rich, handsome Rhett. Women everywhere have swooned over him!
This book is filled with fabulous characters, depth, and meaning. Through-out the long book, readers really feel attached to the characters and plot. I recommend this book to everyone, everywhere. Read this book and immediately you will be wrapped up in America's most famous story during one of our nation's most difficult times. Read about the old south and southern charms. Read about intimate romances and betrayels. Read about LIFE! In my opinion, Gone With The Wind is the best book ever written! Truly a must-read!
