My favorite book was Golem in the Gears. The main character was very interesting, he was an animated Golem. Which is a doll that at one point in time was made from rags, sticks, and clay turned into a human. But, he remains at his original size. He is five inches tall and like every one else in the kingdom of xanth has a magic talent, his is the ability to talk with any living creature. One reason I chose this book as my favorite book is because of how it relates to all the other books. Another one of the characters is Rapunzel she is Princess Ivy's pun pal. She is the child of one of the characters in the book before this. Rapunzel's magic talent is her hair it can become any length and still weigh the same. Besides her magic talent she also has the ability to become any size she wishes because she is part elf. The main plot of this book is for Grundy Golem to find Ivy's pet dragon Stanley Steamer. This quest takes Grundy all over xanth in a wonderful adventure.
