A very good book that I read this year is The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank. In the book, which is actually Anne's diary, she tells everything that happens when she, her family and some family friends have to stay hidden for about two years during World War II.

Anne, her family, and all the people hiding with them, are Jewish. The Nazis are going from town to town, house to house collecting Jews to kill, so the Frank family decides to go into hiding. In her diary, Anne tells about her fights with her mother and her roommate. Anne tells about her first kiss with a boy named Peter who is hiding with her and she tells about how much she wants to go outside and feel the fresh air. She also writes about how everybody reacts when a robber is in the warehouse that they are staying in.

This is really an amazing book for many reasons. One of the main reasons is because even though Anne is only thirteen when she starts her diary, she has an astounding talent for writing. I would recommend this book to everyone.
