One of the books that I found particularly enjoyable was Congo, by Michael
Chrichton. I enjoyed that book for several reasons. First, I enjoyed the
history that the author incorporated with the story. He used real places
with real history. The places that were fictional were well thought up.
Throughout the story I kept running into history.
Secondly, I loved the non-stop action. On every other page there was some
action. First there was a plane crash, then a gunfight, and an explosion.
I enjoyed the relenting pace that was never let up throghout the story.
Thirdly, I liked the technology behind the story. In essence, it was really
a hight tech treasure hunt. There were satellite phones, super computers,
lasers, and explosives. Most of the book was about what kind of technology
they used to find the diamonds and how far it got them.
Lastly, I found the storyline very attractive. As I said before, the whole
book was really a treasure hunt. I liked the different places the story
took the characters. The story was incredibly involved and well developed.
I would recommend Congo, to anyone who wants high action, a relenting pace,
technology, and a well developed historic storyline.
