It's about a boy named Brennan Cole , he went on a camping trip with his mom, some kids, and his mom's boyfriend. When he went to bed he put his head on his pillow but he felt something hard under his pillow . Then he lifted his head up looked under his pillow and saw a human skull with a big hole where the forehead is . He brought it home to find out who the person was . His biology teacher helped him find out information about the skull . The persons name was Coyote Runs . He was riding on a horse in the 1800's and some soldier shot him in the head . Now Brennan feels that he has to return the skull to the Canyons . This book is really good it discribes things very well I could picture in my head exactly what the skull looked like . I would recomend this to any middle schooler .
