The Book Treasure Island was my favorite classical book that I read this year. This book takes place back in the seventeen hundreds. The book is narrated by two people Jim Hawkins and Dr. Livingston.
The book all starts off in Jim Hawkins dad's tavern. An old captain comes in to stay in the Tavern. Everyday the captain would have a few glasses of rum. The doctor would always be in the Tavern because the captain would always get sick drinking the rum. One day the captain got really sick and had to be served in bed. While Jim and mother spent most of the day taking care of the captain, Father was left alone. Father was very sick and then he died at the eyes of Mother and Jim. Jim orders from the doctor was not to give the captain any more rum. But, John had been sneaking rum to the captain. While the captain was sick people were coming in asking him to give them his treasure map. The captain keep saying no because he wanted someone good to have it like Jim. Jim and the captain had became quite the friends. As the captain said no to people, they all cursed at him as they left. An old shipmate friend came in asking for the map but when the captain said no his shipmate gave him the black spot. The black spot was a piece of paper with a black hole that meant that you would die in a few hours. The captain died a few hours before his real limit.
The day after the death of the captain, Jim and his Mother went through the captain's things to look for the money that he owed them. As they were looking Jim and his Mother heard the sound of a man walking and then banging on the door of the Tavern. This man had been to the Tavern before asking the captain about the map. Jim told his Mother this and then she started to be terrified. Jim and his mom put everything back but one thing the map. They didn't know it was the map till later. The two ran out of the house and under a bridge. While they were doing this Mother fainted. Jim quickly hid her in a bush and then went up closer to see what was going on. Moments later, the man that was knocking on the door had came back with other men. They knocked the door down then searched the house for the captain. When they found the captain they yelled down to the man that was knocking on the door before that they had the captain. the men searched the captain but couldn't find any trace of the map they started to come outside. Their leader the guy that was knocking an the door said that the boy must have it. He was referring to Jim. then he said search the house and don't leave the house on touched. The men went into the house and then trashed it. All of a sudden, there was a gun shot from the top of the hill. They came to the t5avern and scared away all the men that were trashing the house. One of the men were friends with Jim. They asked him what had happened. Jim told them. He told the men that he needed to talk to Dr. Livingston. The man rode him up to the Sqirer's house. Jim told The doctor what had happened. Then he told him about the package. They opened the package and then there was a map. The squire fixed up the Tavern the next day.
The squire and the doctor made arrangements to go look for the treasure. When the ship reaches the island some strange things happen between the crew and the treasure wasn't in the place it was supposed to be. This book was a very good book because of all the detail that was put into it. The book had so much action in it and I could never put it down. The book made me fell that I was right their. I rate this book ten out of ten.

Treasure Island is a thrilling book that deals murder and betrayal. The characters in the book make the story come alive. The climax is constantly growing, there is not one dull moment in the book.
The book takes place during the early 1800's. It starts out at a tavern called the "Admiral Benbow." This is where the story starts and where the adventure begins. The "Admiral Benbow" is where Jim and Billy Bones first come acquainted. Billy Bones stayed at the tavern for a long time. While he was there he constantly got drunk and he was always telling stories about his adventures. At times he did seem as though he was hiding something. He also always reminded Jim to keep a look out for another sea-fearing man. Jim never knew why Billy always told him to do this, but Jim did it because he was scared of Billy. One day, Jim found out why Billy had made him do this. On this day Billy died. When he died he owed Jim and his mother a lot of money. So Jim and his mother went into Billy's trunk to get the money. However, Jim took something else besides the money something that this other sea-fearing man wanted. At first, Jim did not know what it was, he thought it was just some old papers. Later Jim found out that it was a map, a map that lead to fortune.
Jim gave this map to Dr. Livesey. Dr. Livesey got a ship and a crew. The ship was beautiful and the crew was handpicked. There was a member of the crew named John Silver. In the beginning everyone liked him and trusted him. Only they found out later what kind of person he really was. He was the kind of person that they shouldn't have brought on the trip. He organized the mutiny, planned the attack and murdered many. This was only some of what he did. It was because of John Silver that only six people came back alive.
Jim had no idea what he would encounter on this trip. If he had known, he wouldn't have gone. Jim had experienced things that he had only heard of. Treasure Island is a thrilling book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I guarantee that you won't be bored.
