A Christmas Carol is one of my favorite classics from this year. It was written by Charles Dickens. This book was very good and interesting. Its moral is one that everyone should know and cherish. When Scrooge was wished a merry Christmas, he replied with a "bah humbug." It was an easy book to read. It took place long ago, before inventions like electricity.
A Christmas Carol is about a man named Ebeneizer Scrooge. Scrooge is a very grumpy, mean old man. The thing he hates most is Christmas. He can't see Christmas's point. He won't attend his nephew's Christmas dinner and he won't give his workers Christmas day off. Not only is he grumpy at Christmas, but he is grumpy year round.
On Christmas Eve night, Scrooge is visited by the spirit of his deceased partner in business, Marley. Marley's spirit foretells that Scrooge will be visited by three spirits. The spirit then leaves Scrooge.
The first spirit comes shortly after Marley. The spirit's name is The Ghost of Christmas Past. The spirit is small, and the author describes it as if it was a child. The spirit takes Scrooge to the past, to when Scrooge was a child. None of the people can see Scrooge or the spirit. As the spirit sores above the town where Scrooge grew up with Scrooge, Scrooge recognizes all of the child's faces. They were his friends from long ago. The spirit took Scrooge to his old house. They then went to Scrooge's old school house. Next, the spirit took Scrooge to when he was a little bit older. The spirit showed him his old girlfriend and his sister. The spirit then took Scrooge back to the present, and placed Scrooge back in his bed. The spirit left. Scrooge laid wide awake in bed, waiting in anticipation and fear for the next spirit.
The next spirit came later that night. The spirit's name is the Ghost of Christmas Present. The spirit is like a huge giant, who wears a wreath made of holy on his head. The spirit shows Scrooge scenes from the present Christmas Eve. Just like the first time, the people around him could not see him. He first goes to one of Scrooge's employee's home. His employee's name is Peter Cratchett. There is a large party there. Children, friends, and family are all attending the party. One very rememberable character from this scene is Tiny Tim. Tiny Tim is Peter's son. Tiny Tim is a young cripple, probably around the age of six. Although he is crippled, he has a very positive attitude. He is very joyful. Scrooge and the spirit then go to his nephew's house. The spirit return's Scrooge to his bed, and the spirit leaves.
The third and last spirit comes next. The spirit is The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. The spirit takes Scrooge into the future. They are in the same town that Scrooge lives. The people of the town are talking of a dead man. The spirit then takes Scrooge into a house. There is a dead body on a bed in the house, but it is too dark for Scrooge to see the body's face. Then the spirit takes Scrooge to a graveyard. If you want to know what happen's from after this point in the book, you'll have to read it.
I like this book and recommend this book because it was easy, good, and educational. Although this book is a classic, it was easy to read. Even though the words are descriptive, I was still able to understand them. This book was good because the author used good description, and I found that it was interesting throughout the whole book. You could easily picture the scenes of the book. This book was educational in the fact that there was a lesson for everyone in this book. This book taught me that there is more to Christmas than presents. The children in this book weren't looking forward to getting presents. They were happy because they were with their family.
This book is a must read. I recommend it to any reader who is looking for a great classic.

A wonderful classic in which I have read this year is entitled A Christmas Carol. The author of this book is the well renowned author, Charles Dickens. The book is about 115 pages long. The novel is somewhat easy to read, especially because it is so good. This book took place long ago, before modern technologies such as electricity were invented.
A Christmas Carol is about a man named Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge absolutely despises Christmas. He is an extremely mean, and grumpy old man. When Scrooge is wished a " Merry Christmas" he replies with a brief and cold " bah humbug." Obviously Scrooge didn't want others to enjoy the Christmas season.
The plot of this novel is Scrooge starts out at an Insurance agency. He is very mean to his secretary, Peter Cratchet. He goes home that night and when he gets home he encounters his long deceased partner, Marley. He is in the form of a ghost. Marley tells Scrooge that he will encounter three spirits during the night. The first one will be the spirit of Christmas. He would show Scrooge his past and how life used to be. The second spirit would be called the "Spirit of Christmas Present." He would show Scrooge what is going on around him. The last spirit was called the "Spirit of Christmas of yet to come." He would show Scrooge what will happen in the future.
That night, the first ghost came. He showed Scrooge his childhood. This included his old house. The author described Scrooges sister in the house, and her playing. It showed his old job in a leather mill. Dickens explained that Scrooge's old boss was very nice and treated him very well. This spirit also showed Scrooge his old girlfriend and how much fun Scrooge had with her. The book also said how he later lost this girlfriend because he treated her badly.
The second spirit ("The Spirit of Christmas Present") showed Scrooge what was going on around him at that current time. This spirit showed Scrooge how the Cratchit family didn't have a lot if food to eat. They were saying how Scrooge wasn't paying their father enough money to buy good food on. This spirit also showed Scrooge his nephew. Scrooge's nephew was a very good spirited man. He was enjoying himself because he enjoyed life.
The third and final spirit was called "The Spirit of Christmas yet to come." He showed Scrooge his future and what was going to happen. This spirit brought Scrooge to reality. He did this by showing Scrooge his tombstone. The next thing that Scrooge was doing was begging this spirit not to let him dye. This was up to Scrooge. If he changed his life for the better he would not dye, but if he kept living the same way he would certainly dye. To find out Scrooge's fate read A Christmas Carol.
I recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn a good lesson about life. Scrooge was a mean man and this spoiled his life. He was lucky because he had some spirits to help him and make his life better. Scrooge learned that you are given the opportunity to lead a good life or a bad one. Unfortunately he started out in the wrong direction, but he changed his life for the better. Overall, this was a very good book.

A wonderful classic that I read this year was A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. This is an easy book that is 116 pages. If you would like to read a short classic this year this is the one! It took place in the 1800's. It is a great book and any one would really enjoy it.
A Christmas Carol is about a man named Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge was a very rich person who was very greedy. He did not like to help any one even people who were in need. All that suddenly changed when he was visited by his partner, Jacob Marley, who had been dead for 7 years. Jacob came to warn Scrooge of his terrible fate if he didn't change his cruel ways. Marley didn't want Scrooge to end up like him. Marley, because he was unkind to people in his life and never changed his ways, was forced to wear heavy chains with lots of metal. Marley didn't want Scrooge to be forced to wear the chain when Marley knew he could help Scrooge change. So Marley told Scrooge that three spirits, the ghost of Christmas past, the ghost of Christmas present, and the ghost of Christmas future would come to visit him in hopes that he would change.
One of my favorite parts of this novel was when the second spirit, the ghost of Christmas present came to visit Scrooge. I liked this part because this is when Scrooge really starts to realize that he doesn't want his life to be like this. At this part the spirit takes Scrooge around the town. Scrooge finds out that mostly everybody is talking about him,how unkind he is. I also liked this part because I liked the character. The character I liked was the spirit. I liked him because he was jolly, and he was happy. He was also the nicest spirit.
Another good part of the book was at the beginning. This part was when Jacob Marley came to visit Scrooge and told him that the spirits were going to come. This was a good part because Scrooge was surprised
by Marley, coming back to warn scrooge about his terrible fate. Scrooge
did not get scared very easily. Scrooge was the kind of person who thought a little two highly of himself.
I really enjoyed this novel, I thought it was very well written and creative. I would recommend it to anybody who likes a good short classic.
this novel could also change your point of view on life and how certain people act. It changed my point of view! I really think if you like to read classics, and if you haven't read it yet then give it a chance read it you just might like it.
