One of my favorite novels was Ann Of Green Gables. It was an uplifting classic about a young girl who goes through many struggles growing up on Prince Edward Island. Ann is raised by Aunt Marilla and Matthew when they take her from the orphanage. Ann is a very different child because she has the wildest imagination. She would get in trouble all the time because whenever she was doing something, she would stop thinking about it and start imagining and so whatever she had started would be forgotten.
It all started when Marrila and Matthew decided that Matthew needed help on the farm. So, they decided that getting an orphan to help out would be a good idea. When Matthew went to pick up the orphan, he found out it was a girl and thought they would return her in the morning because they had wanted a boy to do farm work.
Once they brought her home, they realized that she was a very inspirational little girl, and they didn't really want to bring her back. Ann struggles to become a better and better person as time passes, and eventually she is a very proper young women, though at the beginning it seemed as if she would never make it. At the beginning, Ann makes many mistakes and gets into trouble regularly it is a great challenge for Marrila to try to raise Ann.
Ann becomes a better person because she never gives up and always looks on the bright side. When Ann achieves something, she only becomes more and more determined. Everything about Ann makes you the reader fell like you could change for the better and do anything you want to, just like Ann. Her positive attitude and her determination really inspired me as I read this book. The book is great for people of all reading abilities. Ann of Green Gables is definitely worth reading because of how good it makes you feel inside, I would highly recommend Ann of Green Gables to anyone who likes an uplifting story.

Anne of Green Gables was an interesting and realistic book. It taught many lessons about life and friendship.
The book took place during the early 1900's in a little town called Avonlea, on a farm called Green Gables. This farm was owned by a sister and brother named Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. Neither of them had any children and they didn't really want any, especially a girl. Finally they decided to adopt a boy to help with the farm work. Their friend offered to take care of all of the details for them. She arranged for the child to come in on the train. Then, Matthew would pick the child up. Matthew was not fond of this idea because he didn't like children. When Matthew went to pick up the boy he found a girl instead. There had been a mix up at the adoption home. Matthew did not know what to do so he brought the girl home to let Marilla deal with it. Marilla's first action was to send the child back to the adoption home. While the girl, Anne, was there, she became attached to Matthew and Marilla. They became quite fond of her. Matthew really wanted to keep her because he admired her outgoing and friendly attitude. He would bring her home little presents, and he desperately wanted to keep her. Marilla was finally convinced to keep Anne.
Marilla and Matthew became very fond of Anne. Eventually Anne went to school with the other kids. While Anne went to school she encountered good things and bad things. She met a girl named Diana. Diana and Anne went on to be best friends. They spent every free minute they had with each other. Anne also had other friends. However she also had enemies. There was a boy named Gilbert who would always tease her. He would pull her hair and call her "Carrots" because of the color of her hair. Anne hated Gilbert! She was always mean to him. Gilbert and Anne constantly battled in class. They would compete for the title of smartest in class. This competition lasted for many years. Gilbert and Anne both won awards because they were so smart.
To find out what else happened, read the novel! Montgomery's characters make the book come alive in this epic tale of a young girl's life. This wonderful story of Anne's life was just the beginning. In the sequel Anne of Avonela you can read more about Anne.

Anne of Green Gables was a heart-warming book about an eleven-year old girl who was always getting herself into trouble. Anne was a very sweet girl, but was always wandering off and doing something wrong. She was never satisfied with what she had. When Marilla Cuthbert, her adopted mother, made her a dress, Anne just complained that it was too plain and wasn't in style. Anne hated the way she looked. She was very skinny and had red hair and freckles. If anyone said anything about her weight or hair color, she would lash out at them. Anne was full of dreams and had never had a real home ever since she was a baby.
The book started out where Marilla Cuthbert and her brother, Matthew, wanted to adopt a boy to help Matthew with the chores. Instead of sending them a boy, the orphanage sent them a girl. Marilla, who was very strict, was planning to send Anne back. But, after Anne stayed at their house for only a few days, she learned to love the eleven-year-old girl. They decided to let Anne stay. Anne tried to be really good because she knew that she could be sent back at any time.
I liked this book a lot. I was always wondering what Anne would do next. She was not only mischievous, but also courageous. One time, she and some other girls were playing Truth or Dare Anne was dared to walk across the top of the roof, so she did. Anne's best friend begged her not to do it, but Anne did not want everyone to think that she was afraid for the rest of her life, and she did it. After Anne had taken only a few steps, She fell and landed in a bush. She said that her leg hurt and she had to be carried all the way home. Poor Anne had broken her leg. She had to stay in bed until her leg was better.
Anne's major problem was day-dreaming. One day, the minister and his wife came to Anne's house for tea. Anne was so excited and was going to make a cake for them. By mistake, instead of putting one of the ingredients in, she put liniment in it. When it was time to eat the cake, no one complimented Anne's cooking. This made Anne very upset, but she finally found out why no one had taken seconds when she tested the cake.
Anne of Green Gables was a very good book. L.M. Montgomery made you feel like you were Anne herself. This was a great classic filled with love and joy, for people who love to read. So, if you want to read a great book, read Anne of Green Gables .

Anne of Green of Green Gables by: L.M Montgomery

I read the book Anne of Green Gables . It was a great classic written by L.M Montgomery. This book is about a young orphan girl named Anne who gets adopted by an old couple. The story took place in a cottage called Green Gables. During this book Anne gets into all sorts of trouble. Once, when the priest and his wife were coming over for dinner, Anne put the wrong recipe in for cake she was baking for their company. This was the first time meeting the priest, and so Anne wanted to impress them. She had spent the whole morning trying to make the cake perfect. So Anne was heart broken when the cake turned out horrible. But unfortunately, Anne made a lot more mistakes in this book, no matter how hard she tried.
This book was very exciting and kept me reading with interest the whole way through. One of my favorite parts in this book was when Anne slammed a slate over Gilbert's head. Gilbert was the most popular boy in school, and all the girls were sweet on him. Gilbert wanted to get Anne's attention so he started pulling Anne's long red braids. When she still didn't turn around to look at him, he called her hair carrots. Now if there is one thing Anne hates to be made fun of most, it's her hair. This is because she hates that it is the color red. She always tries to imagine it a different color, but it doesn't work, it is always the same dark shade of red. So when Gilbert called her hair carrots she was really mad. So mad, that she picked up a slate and broke it over his head. Everyone was shocked, especially Gilbert. And from that day, Anne never forgave Gilbert.
Another part that I really enjoyed in Anne of Green Gables , was when Anne dyed her hair green. Anne had bought a bottle of hair dye from a peddler. The hair dye was supposed to make her hair a deep brown and would never come out. Well the part about it not coming out was right, but the color was a different story. After Anne applied the hair dye, she realized that instead of coloring her hair a deep brown, her hair was green! Soon Marilla (the person who had adopted her) came upstairs to see why Anne hadn't come down to dinner. When she saw Anne's hair, she knew why. Anne explained her story, and told her all the thing she had done to get the dye out. But Marrilla knew the only thing left to do was to cut Anne's hair. Anne was heartbroken, but she learned a lesson. This was that she shouldn't try to change the way she looked, or she might end up making it look worse. Poor Anne, she always had to learn the hard way. I would definitely recommend this book. Although it was pretty challenging, the book went by fast, and every chapter was better then the last. I have read the book twice, and I still would read it again. You will definitely not regret reading this book. So take my advice, and read it!

The book, Anne of Green Gables is a wonderful novel about imagination and courage. It takes place in a beautiful cottage called Green Gables. The main character in this book is Anne. She was a orphan and had always wanted someone to adopt her. One day she was asked to be adopted by Marilla and Matthew Cuthburt. Anne was so excited that she was finally going to be adopted by some nice person who would love and care for her always. When Matthew Cuthburt went to pick up his new child, Anne was sitting on the bench waiting patiently for her new parents and couldn't stop imagining about what it will be like to actually live in a house of her own. When Matthew saw her, he looked astonished at what was in front of him. He had expected to find a strong young boy to help him at home, but instead he found a skinny red-headed girl. He saw the anxious expression on her face so he felt that he had to take her home. When Marilla saw what her husband had brought to her she flipped out. She said every bad thing that could be said about a girl and made Anne feel very unwanted. Of course, Marilla let her stay the night but made strict orders to take her back to the orphanage in the morning. Anne was so disappointed about this. The house was so beautiful that she couldn't imagine leaving it. That night, she couldn't go to sleep. She kept thinking about the words that Marilla had said, "A girl! What are we going to do with a skinny red headed girl?" Anne was very offended about her bright red hair. She was sure that her red hair had ruined her looks and the way people felt about her. Anne always dreamed of having long beautiful auburn hair, but had never really thought that it would happen. After a while Anne cried herself to sleep and never woke until morning.
In the morning, Anne was surprised at what she had heard. She was to go to a ladies house who would send her back to the orphanage! Anne was so scared and mad because she didn't want to leave Green Gables.
When Marilla and Anne arrived at the house, they started talking to the lady who would take her away. When they were finally done, Marilla said that she would talk to Anne in the morning.
When Anne woke up that morning, she walked down to Marilla. After a moment's silence, Marilla said that Anne was to stay at Green Gables! No one knew how much those words meant to her. She finally had a home! Marilla thought that she would regret it because Anne was very annoying sometimes, but in the end, she found out how much she really needed her. I am not saying that Anne was the most perfect girl in the world. She made plenty of mistakes, but she really helped out when she had to and she always thought of Marilla and Matthew when ever she went away. She loved them both dearly and made sure that Marilla would never regret her decision.
This book was a wonderful story and I hope that you will read and enjoy it as much as I did.
