In sixth grade I read many good books. One of my favorites was the classic Treasure Island.
I liked this book because it was exciting and held my attention through the whole book. From the first chapter to the last, I liked the whole book. One of my favorite parts was when Jim, the main character was in the battle at the stockade. This was exciting and sad. The sad part was because so many good people died while fighting for their lives. What made this part so exciting was the way the author of Treasure Island described this part. I could see the battle in my mind.
The characters in this book were very interesting in they way they acted. One person had me wondering about him the whole time. His name was Captain Silver. Silver was interesting because of his actions and his looks. Silver only has one leg and doesn't have formal clothes. His plan, however, was to capture the ship, kill the crew, get the treasure, and leave Treasure Island by turning on his own crew.
The plot of the book is when the pirates and good people reach the Treasure Island and what happens there. From when the pirates take over the ship to the end witch I can't give away.
So if your looking for a exciting classic this is a good one to pick.

The book I read was Treasure Island. Treasure Island was written by Rudyard Kipling. It was a very exiting book. It's about a boy named Jim who helps his mother and father run their tavern the Admiral Ben Bow. One day an old nasty seaman comes to their tavern . He's always causing trouble by getting drunk. He always want's liquor. He stays there for a long time and in that time Jim's father dies. After that, trouble starts. An old blind man comes to their tavern and asks for a seafaring man. Jim says he doesn't know any sea man since the man that caused so much trouble Billy Bones told Jim to not say any thing to anybody about him.
Nobody bothers the Admiral Ben boy for a while, until a man that calls himself Black dog asks for a sea man. Jim says nothing. Jim wants to know why all these fellows want to see Billy Bones. So Jim goes into Billy's room. Jim sees a sea chest he tries to open it but he can't. Suddenly he heard something downstairs. He goes down stairs. Billy Bones is dead.
Jim and his Mom find out that Billy Bones is/was a pirate. He's been hiding a treasure map his hole life. Jim and his mom pry the chest open. There is ruby's , flags and a TREASURE map. They take it and leave just before a bunch or pirates raid their house.
Jim and some friends get a ship the Hispaniola to find that treasure. what they don't Know is some of the men they hired are pirates and will do any thing to get that treasure.
If you like books with Action and is allot of fun this is the book for you. I liked this book and I think you will. So next time you get a book get Treasure Island by Rudyard Kipling.
