An excellent classic that I would recommend for reading is Journey To The Center of The Earth by the famous author Jules Verne. This book was one of the finest works of the author Jules Verne. I read the book early this school year. It is also a classic. The book had 291 pages.
Journey to The Center of The Earth was a very exciting book fulfilled with action, joy, sadness, triumph, and adventure. The classic was based upon a character named Uncle Lindenbrock. Uncle Lindenbrock was a man with a very eccentric personality. He was well known across the country of Germany as an eccentric scientist professor. One day, Uncle Lindenbrock came across an old parchment written in a rare Icelandic language. Uncle Lindenbrock knew a little bit of Icelandic. He found the parchment in a library book he borrowed from the Hamburg Library. This man spent days trying to decode the parchment. He spent days trying to decode the parchment. He wouldn't eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner during the time in which he was trying to decode the parchment. Finally, Uncle Lindenbrock decoded the message. He was so proud when he had decoded the parchment. The Icelandic parchment stated that there was a secret passage way that led to the center of the earth. The parchment had been written by a man who discovered the passage way thousands of years ago. After he had decoded the parchment, he told his nephew that he had decoded the parchment. Uncle Lindenbrock decided that he would take his nephew along on the long voyage. Uncle Lindenbrock's nephew thought that his uncle was crazy. He believed that the journey would be very difficult to accomplish. Finally, Uncle Lindenbrock's nephew decided that he would go on the journey.
While near the center of the Earth, Axel (Uncle Lindenbrock 's nephew) got lost. He had gone the wrong way. He was lost in the bowels of the Earth. The subterrani
an world was very new to Axel. Finally, he was found by Uncle Lindenbrock and the guide Hans. That was a very exciting part of the book. Another e xciting part of the book was when Uncle Lindenbrock and Axel were traveling to the the volcano in which the secret passageway to the center of the earth was located. The volcano was called Sneffels. At this volcano, Uncle Lindenbrock and Axel had to climb up the volcano and they had to travel down the summit of the volcano to the secret passageway. In the passageway, Axel and Uncle Lindenbrock had to travel their way to the center of the earth. The volcano "Sneffels" was said to be extinct. That meant that it wouldn't erupt. However, the volcano hadn't erupted in hundreds of years. This part of the book was also very exciting and suspenseful.
Overall, Journey To The Center of The Earth was an outstanding book. It is just one of the magnificent works done by the great author Jules Verne. Along with reading Journey To The Center of The Earth, I have read other classics by Jules Verne. They are Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, Around The World In Eighty Days, and The Mysterious Island. All of these books proved to be just as outstanding as the book in which I have described to you. I would highly recommend this book to most people who love to read.
