The Swiss Family Robinson, 274 pages, by Johan Wyss is another one of my favorite books. It is about a family of five from Switzerland, leaving their home to join a colony in the south seas. On the journey they are struck by a storm and the ship is stuck on the rocks. The crew and other passengers abandon the Robinsons on the slowly sinking ship. When the storm passes the family sees land. Using the surrounding resources they build a ship and reach land. They build shelters and other necessary structures, in attempt to survive on their island. This book may be a classic, but it is a true adventure/survival story.

Another great classic is The Swiss family Robinson, it's about a family who gets stranded on an island all alone and they have to survive on the supplies they recovered from the damaged ship.
It tells what this family does to cope with and adapt to their sorroundings, and what team work does for them so they can get food.
This book is very good and I would deffinitely recommend it, it is very descriptive, and exciting, like when they encountered a 20 foot long snake or the humungous two lions.
