I read The Red Pony by John Steinbeck. It was a really great book. It's about a young boy, Jody, who receives a pony from his father. Jody loves his pony very much, and he takes very good care of it, but one day his pony gets sick.... What next?

This book was very interesting. It always keeps you on the edge of your seat, and wondering what will happen to Jody's pony. This book will keep your interest even if you don't like animals, because it's more than just a book about a pony. Many things happen that don't have to do with animals. There are so many lessons in The Red Pony, like how strong the love is between animals and humanly, and its great effect.
