The classic book that I read this year was The Red Badge Of Courage by Stephan Crane. I loved It! I liked how It was so adventurous.
It is about this kid named Henry who goes into the Army during the Civil War. He is defending the north side. He decides that he doesn't want to fight and runs away. While he is running away he finds many things. One of the things is a dead body. The author describes how pink and grey flesh is sticking out of several places on his body. His body was grey looking. There were ants crawling and eating his body. It was very grotesque. I could picture it in my head. Later on Henry trips on a rock and hits his head. The other soldiers find Henry and they think that he was shot in the head. During the book a lot of other things happen too.
