A classic I would recommened is The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. It wasn't long or frustrating to read. It had an interesting plot and memorable characters.
Dorian is a naive young man and very handsome. He is unaware of his beauty until he sees a portrait of himself. He sees how good looking he is and realizes when he gets old, he will be ugly and the painting will mock him. He wishes that the painting will change to look like him.
As time goes on, Dorian becomes a murderer and a liar. When Dorian looks at the picture, it is so ugly, he stabbes himself. When the police find Dorian, he is old and wrinkled like the painting and the painting had returned to normal.
In this book, there are many things happening at once. You are always on the edge of your seat, wondering what's going to happen next.
I guarantee you will like this book. It is a definate read.
