Hillside School--Pillars of Character: Respect and Responsibility
Our school focus this year rests upon two pillars of character, respect and responsibility.  We intend to use these as a means to continue our work from last year, which focused on ways to eliminate bullying, assist victims of bullying, and encourage bystanders to become community members who will intervene and/or find ways to assist in the elimination of bullying.  To do this, it is important for students to see themselves as contributing community members.

We have developed a school pledge to reinforce this idea:

As a member of the Hillside community, I will:

Be honest and treat others with respect;
Keep on trying and always do my best;
Take turns, be kind, and show others I care.
To make Hillside safe, I will do MY SHARE!
