Glencliff Elementary

About Glencliff

Glencliff School is one of five elementary schools in the Niskayuna Central School District located in Rexford, New York. Built in 1956, our students come from Schenectady and Saratoga Counties. This area includes parts of Clifton Park, Glenville, Niskayuna and Rexford as well as the village of Alplaus. We are often referred to as the "country school across the river" because of our beautiful rural setting. 

Glencliff is fortunate to count among its resources the John F. Youngblood Wildlife Sanctuary. The school community has experienced nature through this resource. Our Wildlife Sanctuary, of course, has not always been there. It is the creation of the members of our school community. It includes nature trails for study, hiking, and cross-country skiing. There is also a nature-study pond which was created from a marsh. The flowers and trees in the sanctuary are described in a book written by a volunteer. This book is in the media center.
