NISK-ART MAGAZINE CLUB:

The Nisk-Art Magazine Club annually produces a Niskayuna High School student Art and Literary Magazine.  Students are involved in fund-raising activities from the beginning of the school year to raise money for the publication of the magazine in the spring.  Students from grades 9 – 12 submit artwork and literature to be judged and selected by club members for the magazine.  Selected artwork is photographed and literature is retyped and placed into a page layout software program.  Student club members edit and proof the final layout before sending it to a professional printer.  Students sell the new edition at various school events to raise funds for the next year's publication.  This process teaches students the reality of creating and publishing a professional magazine, from the financial, the artistic, to the editorial.  It is a very rewarding experience for students and advisors.
