FALL BOOK FAIR

Students and teachers at Birchwood eagerly anticipate our annual Fall Book Fair usually held in conjunction with Children's Book Week during the third week of November. The gym is transformed with hundreds of books provided by Scholastic's Books on Tour book fair program.

Each class comes on Monday or Tuesday during Book Fair Week to look over the available selections. The students prepare their wish lists to take home and share with parents. On Wednesday and Thursday, the students can come at a time chosen by their teachers to purchase their selections. On Thursday evening, the Birchwood PTO hosts an Open House when parents and children come to school to visit classrooms and the Book Fair.

Profits from the Book Fair are used to fund incentive programs at Birchwood such as the Summer Reading Party, Learning Fair film, and the Poster Contest Pizza Party and to purchase books and other materials for the Media Center.
